Which UK Running Buggies are suitable from birth?

Having a buggy that's suitable for running with, or even walking off road, doesn't mean you have to have a separate buggy.  Too many people end up with a garage full of buggies; newborn, off road, umbrella stroller type and that before a double comes into it!

Raising the awareness that you can buy 1 buggy that does everything, (including running) is a mission of mine in order to enable more families to be active at a time when fitting in exercise is tough.

It's worth highlighting that manufacturer's recommend you don't run with a baby until 6, or 9 months depending on the buggy.  But that doesn't mean you can't have one that suitable for when the time is right!

The key quality to look for in a buggy that's suitable for both running and urban use is having a swivel front wheel so you can manoeuvre it in tight spaces.  Then when you want to go a bit faster, you would fix it straight for stability at speed.

So what running buggies can be this flexible, fabulous one size fits all buggy?

1) Mountain Buggy Terrain £499
This New Zealand brand is built to stand rugged landscapes and all terrains.  It has an appealing 100% lie flat recline of the seat (only one to have this) and the ability to buy parent facing carry cot and car seat adapters for a car seat.  The carrycot also can be inclined towards you, unlike any others, up until your baby is 15kgs.  Their carrycot mattress has met Australian safety standards regarding firmness which is a step towards preventing SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). 2) Britax BOB Revolution Pro £450 (RRP £480)

The number 1 running buggy brand in the States. This hard wearing buggy will last for many thousands of miles and multiple children!  Only compatible with Britax car seats.  Carry cot also available and requires the car seat adapter to work.  This manufacturer recommends not running with a baby before 9 months in the main seat, but it can be used for walking from 6 months.

3) THULE Urban Glide 2 £500 (RRP £549.99)

Scandi design and super light, the Urban Glide is a fabulous buy.  Such a good sun canopy which is labelled SPF 50.  Their new 2018 model has a handbrake unlike the other's above.  Carry cot and car seat adapter available.  Find the wide range of compatible car seats when you click on the item in the Accessories page.
