Finding suitable places to run with your buggy

Wendy Rumble

I'm challenging myself to come up with new places to buggy run in order to expand my repertoire of where to recommend people to go.  I'm so jealous of my brother in Arlington Virginia where there are miles on end of smooth trails for running and biking.  But then they have guns which I'm not a fan of....and Donald Trump.... anyway back to the matter in hand.

In days gone by my buggy running often followed the routes of my normal runs.  So mostly residential smooth routes but with curbs, the curse of the buggy.  That's when having a running buggy with you is handy, especially the Mountain Buggy Terrain as it does pop up the curbs easily.  I also love taking it to the park as the wood chip you have to drag a standard buggy over with a baby in whilst chasing about a toddler is enough to push any parent to the edge.  I refuse to take my Bugaboo Cameleon there anymore after having a really stressful experience of baby screaming, toddler howling with grazed knee and me struggling to bend over in low cut jeans without showing more than a non builder would want to.

The winter months create more obvious limitations to routes with darkness and dampness in the UK but I'm trying to overcome this by creating a community of parents that run with their little ones via the power of social media so that knowing where to go becomes less of a barrier.  Please join my Facebook group 'Buggy Runners' to share your routes (via strada or similar) and experiences.  (Not UK specific)

And sometimes nothing beats that errand buggy run, ticking off the post office, library and local store, to make you feel satisfied and a little like supermum. #nailedit
